Civil War Re-Enactment - Civic Park

Ohio is steeped in rich history.

Every year at Civic Park in Reynoldsburg, a group of dedicated volunteers camps out at the park for two days.  Their goal is to educate people about a very special time in American history.

The 2011 event is sponsored by the following groups:

  • The Society of Civil War Surgeons
  • The US Corp of Topographical Engineers
  • The 5th Kentucky Confederate Infantry
  • Company B and Byrnes Battery B
  • Reynoldsburg Parks and Recreation Department
More info on the event can be found here on the official Facebook PAGE
Using authentic period costume, tools, techniques and tactics, the re-enactors show what life and war were like back in the 1860's.
You are encouraged to talk and interact with the re-enactors who are well versed in civil war history.

Then there is a treat - several times a day, battles are enacted in the field with fence rows, hay bails and cannon fire.

These images are from the 2009 encampment.  Stay tuned for images from this years event.
