Watlao Buddhamamakaram Temple

Background:
Nestled away within an east side Columbus, OH neighborhood is this little gem.
Built in 2009 to support the Laoatian Buddhists that live in the area, the Watlao Buddhamamakaram Temple sits majestically, soaking in the cold January rays of sun.

Impression:
It was 29F with a brisk 15mph wind, so I did not stay long.  My poor fingers could not take much!!

The grounds are very well kept and the building and surrounding structures are a beautiful sight to behold either from the street or up close.

The paint, metal work and glass all shimmer in the sun.  Such a great place of beauty and a slice of another world right within the 270 loop on the east side of Columbus off of Bexvie Avenue.

Cincinnati Museum Center - Cincinnati History Museum - For The Train Lovers!

Written by Danielle and Andrew Livelsberger

Background:
Union Station in Cincinnati is a great place to see the vintage architecture as well as some great museums.  Among them are a natural history museum, Cincinnati history museum and the ability to go into the old "Tower A" and see the tracks.

Impression:
If you like trains, then the Cincinnati History Museum is worth the price of the ticket.  Home to the largest permanent S-scale train and city set.  It is impressive to behold and must be seen in person.  It runs on a day/night cycle with 5 minutes of daylight and 2 minutes of night time.  The buildings have their own lights, and there is even a house fire that is attended to by firefighters with real smoke!!

Check the schedules and hit Tower A.  You will be greeted with knowledgeable train experts and a grand view of the train yard.

Winter Time Columbus Zoo - Plan A Visit

A Columbus Zoo capture.  Don't forget that the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is open in the winter months.  There is still plenty to do and see indoors and out.  The animals love the interaction, so make sure to make time to visit them.

For example, in the Australia and the Islands, check out the Spur Winged Plover as seen in the three images below.
