Background:
The annual Arbor Day festivities, brought to you b y the  Reynoldsburg Parks and Recreation  department is a fun and informative event for all Reynoldsburg residents.

Impression:
This years Arbor Day event was held at Rodebaugh Park in Reynoldsburg.
We begin with opening ceremonies, the Pledge of Allegiance was lead by members of Scout Troop 277, Den 7

Next, Mayor Brad McCloud gives his Arbor Day proclamation.

Arborist Andy Evans, Crew Member and Arborist explains the benefits that trees have on the environment and community.

Some of the kids learn about different leaf shapes and seeds of various trees.

Some kids chose to color and complete challenges in the provided activity books.

Volunteers were recruited to help plant the newest trees at the park.

There was a coloring contest, and these are the 2 winners!

Truro Township Fire - Accident Rescue Demo

Background:
The Truro Township fire department serves the local community.  As part of community outreach, they demonstrate some of their work.  This demonstration is using heavy extraction tools to remove people from a vehicle involved in a car accident.  This demonstration occurred at the Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival.

Impression:
If you are lucky, you will never need to be a recipient of a firefighters services.  However seeing what these people go through in the service of others is a great site to behold.

A staged accident is used to show the procedure that the firefighters go through to extract and transport.

They must wear their protective gear, even in the extreme heat as an accident can be a volatile situation and an electrical short can ignite many kinds of car fluids.

Blankets are placed over the car occupants if possible while the firefighters use specialized tools to break the window glass.

Depending on the severity of the injuries, a hydraulic prying device and/or saw is used to open the doors or remove the roof from the vehicle,  This makes extraction easier and safer.

Life Flight may be called in if time to hospital is of the utmost importance.

Life Flight takes off.  The helicopter only requires a 75 square foot area to land/lift off.

Heroes For Heroes - 5K Obstacle Race

Background:
This 2nd annual race organized by the Reynoldsburg Parks and Recreation department is a 5k race with intermittent obstacles along the way raises money to support Hope For The Warriors organization.

Impression:
This was a great event with many teams coming in to support the cause.  Everyone was upbeat and positive, cheering on their teammates when they needed that little bit extra to keep going.

After the teams finished, a breakfast was provided and the times were calculated.  First through third place times were awarded medals as well as some other prizes.

Father-Daughter Dance At Reynoldsburg Senior Center

Background:
Reynoldsburg Parks and Recreation Department holds an annual Father/Daughter dance at the Reynoldsburg Senior Center.  Food and beverages are provided and crafts are available.  A local DJ is hired to provide music and MC services.

Impression:

Everyone had a great time!  We don't need to say much as we will just let the images speak for themselves.  Enjoy, as the families that attended did.
